Guidance: Early removal of foreign national prisoners: PSI 04/2013

This prison service instruction (PSI) describes the process by which foreign national prisoners should be considered for early removal from prison and the UK under the early removal scheme (ERM). The scheme allows for any foreign national serving a fixed sentence who is liable for removal from the UK to be removed from prison and deported up to 270 days before the earliest release point (usually the halfway point) of their sentence.

• the early removal process and paperwork
